Rep. McClain Delaney Joins Lawmakers in Calling for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Impeachment

Wednesday, January 14, 2026

Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (D-MD-06) joined with more than 70 lawmakers in sponsoring articles of impeachment to remove Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

"Our communities deserve safety rooted in the rule of law—not fear or intimidation. Since taking office, Secretary Noem has inflicted violence against our neighbors while showing blatant disregard for due process and fair, humane treatment of detainees. She also targets states like Maryland that don’t share her political stripes. Twice, she denied FEMA aid to communities in Western Maryland still reeling from last year’s devastating floods. Her actions fall far short of the standards of the title she holds for one of our nation’s most important offices. It’s time for her to pack her bags and go,” said Congresswoman McClain Delaney.
