CAPAC Hits Record Membership of 83, Largest in History

CAPAC welcomes Representatives Bell, Garcia, Kennedy and McClain Delaney

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) welcomed four new Associate Members for the 119th Congress, bringing the total membership of the Caucus to 83 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate—the largest in history.

CAPAC Chair Grace Meng (NY-06) and the new Members issued the following statements:

“I am excited to welcome Representatives Wesley Bell (MO-01), Robert Garcia (CA-42), Tim Kennedy (NY-26), and April McClain Delaney (MD-06) to the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus,” said CAPAC Chair Grace Meng. “Now 83 members strong—the largest in CAPAC’s 31-year history—our caucus has grown in both size and geography to ensure Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders across the country have a voice at the decision-making table. I look forward to working closely with our ally members to defend our rights, stand up to extremism, and deliver results for our AANHPI communities.”

“In AANHPI Heritage month, I’m proud to join CAPAC as a representative from St. Louis—a city shaped by many communities, including a vibrant AANHPI population. I look forward to working together to expand opportunities and make sure every voice is heard,” said Rep. Wesley Bell (MO-01).

“I’m honored to join the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and to stand with my colleagues in support of the AANHPI community,” said Rep. Robert Garcia (CA-42). “In Long Beach, we’re fortunate to have a rich and diverse Asian American population, including a deeply rooted and vibrant Cambodian community that has a vital role in our city’s culture and success. As Donald Trump and his allies continue to push harmful rhetoric and dangerous policies that target and scapegoat Asian communities, it’s more important than ever that we fight for policies that reflect the values and needs of our AANHPI neighbors.”

“I’m honored to join the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and stand with my colleagues in uplifting AANHPI communities across the country,” said Rep. Tim Kennedy (NY-26). “Western New York has a vibrant and robust Asian American population that enriches every part of our region, from our small businesses and classrooms to our hospitals and neighborhoods. I look forward to working with CAPAC to fight against hate, expand opportunity, and ensure every family, regardless of background, is thriving.”

“I’m honored to join the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and to stand alongside colleagues who are deeply committed to justice, representation, and opportunity for all,” said Congresswoman McClain Delaney (MD-06). “Maryland’s 6th District is home to vibrant and growing AANHPI communities, and I’m committed to working on policies that uplift every family — from addressing hate and bias, to improving healthcare access, education, and economic opportunity.
