Congresswoman McClain Delaney Statement on ICE's Cruel and Lawless Attacks in Minnesota

WASHINGTON, DC–Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) released the following statement:

"I stand with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey against ICE’s cruel and lawless attacks which are undermining public safety and spreading terror within communities.

"Having just returned from a field hearing in the Twin Cities with local elected officials and affected stakeholders, I realize this Administration’s inhumane immigration policies have nothing to do with the undocumented and everything to do with seizing power through military occupation over our country, exacting political retribution and bowing at the knee to Trump.

"The kind yet resilient people of Minnesota are standing strong, and so must we in Maryland and across this country. I will fight this assault on our democracy, on our American values and people and push back against these lawless kidnappings of our black, brown and AAPI communities – many of whom are citizens, Native Americans, have legal status or are legal observers. Make no mistake that Trump’s paramilitary forces are not just coming for immigrants, but for all of us who do not bend to the Administration’s will."
