Congresswoman April McClain Delaney Marks One Month in Office with Over $108,000 in Recovered Savings for Constituents

 WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) marks one month since she was sworn into office to serve Maryland’s 6th District in Congress. Congresswoman McClain Delaney and her team hit the ground running, quickly opening her district office in downtown Frederick just two weeks into her term.

“My number one priority is listening to our district’s concerns and bringing them to Washington. As constituents navigate Social Security, Veterans Affairs and numerous other federal agencies, my office is here to help deliver the resources they deserve,” said Rep. McClain Delaney. “I am proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last month, but there is so much more work to do, and I will never stop fighting for Maryland’s 6th District in Congress.”

Over the last month, the Congresswoman’s team has recovered $108,400 in savings for constituents over the next 10 years. The team has also answered over 1,000 calls and emails this month alone and opened 563 cases to help constituents with federal agencies and other needs.

In January, she was selected to serve on the House Agriculture Committee and its “Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology” and “Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development” subcommittees to represent Maryland’s farmers and agricultural interests.

She was also selected to serve on the Science, Space and Technology Committee to invest in our state and nation’s innovation hubs and empower our engineers, scientists and changemakers to build a brighter, safer and more inclusive future.

To amplify the voices of her district, she has also joined the:

  • Problem Solvers Caucus to work with a bipartisan group of lawmakers split evenly between Democrats and Republicans to develop legislative solutions to the country’s most pressing problems;
  • New Dems Coalition to join pragmatic, pro-business Democrats focused on working across the aisle;
  • Democratic Women’s Caucus to further women’s freedoms;
  • Reproductive Freedom Caucus to defend a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions;
  • AI Caucus to boost technological innovation while protecting our communities’ privacy;
  • Labor Caucus to support America’s workers;
  • Congressional Equality Caucus to ensure every American is treated fairly under the law; and,
  • Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our children and grandchildren.
