Delaney sworn into Congress for Maryland's 6th District

WASHINGTON — Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) officially took the oath of office as a member of the 119th Congress, representing Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of Garrett, Montgomery, Frederick, Washington and Allegany counties.

“Now more than ever, Americans need leaders who are committed to delivering common-sense, common-ground solutions that will make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Congresswoman McClain Delaney. “I am deeply honored to represent Maryland’s 6th District in Congress, and I am ready to get to work on the issues that matter most to our families, communities, and future.”

April McClain Delaney was elected to the open seat, succeeding Congressman David Trone, who represented the 6th District since 2019. She defeated Republican Neil Parrott by gaining 53.2% of the popular vote by a tally of 199,788 to 175,974.
